This relationship and collaboration has been instrumental in ensuring safe electrical installations. Now with the 2026 edition of the National Electrical Code, the upcoming 2027 edition of NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace and recent changes in NFPA 70B from a recommended practice to now a consensus standard, NECA is involved in many standard development organizations as well as developer of the NECA NEIS Standards that compliment the NEC, the National Electrical Contractors Association is involved where standards and regulations are being developed and updated.
